Zach was born and raised in Spokane, WA, where he attended Northwest Christian School. He graduated from George Fox University with a biology degree and returned to Spokane for graduate work at Eastern Washington University. He met the love of his life, Corrine, during the ice storm in 2004 in Portland, OR. During the storm, the two checked in on each other and began forming a friendship which turned into a dating relationship. About 8 months in, Corinne's dad was diagnosed with Stage IV Lung Cancer and she had lost her mom before the couple met. Dating and potential marriage now involved her 14 year old brother. After chemo and radiation and the diagnosis of a static tumor, the couple decided to get engaged in January of 2005. They were married in August 2005 in Bellingham, WA. Her dad passed away 5 short months later and the pair graciously took her brother into their home. They now have four beautiful kids, 3 daughters, Abbie, 9, Chloe, 7, and Hannah, 5, and a 3 year old son, Caleb. Zach grew up with Christian parents and remembers accepting Christ after a day at VBS in his small country church, but didn't fully realize what being a Christ follower was until an all school retreat his junior year at Northwest Christian. He felt the Lord place a huge passion on him for missions and seeking the lost his junior year at George Fox. Zach co-owns Summit Rehabilitation Associates where he spends his time managing and helping run the company.
"My goal as an Elder is to help shepherd the church to bear the name of Christ well while upholding the mission and values of Shiloh Hills Fellowship."
Him and his family had visited Shiloh while the church was in a time of transition and decided to pursue another church. They were encouraged to give Shiloh another shot by Zeda Leonard after hearing the story of Shiloh's beginnings. Their first Sunday back, they were warmly greeted by Harold and Marlene Belcher. "We felt for the first time at a church, we were welcomed and accepted," said Zach. After being gone the next Sunday, they returned the following week only to be approached by the Belchers who were anxious to tell them they missed seeing them. They haven't left since and truly call Shiloh their home and extended family. Zach has been an Elder since 2014 and has served in the past as Chairmen as well as Church Administrator.
"My goal as an Elder is to help shepherd the church to bear the name of Christ well while upholding the mission and values of Shiloh Hills Fellowship. I want to serve the church that we may impact lives both within the body of Shiloh but also those outside of Shiloh so that the name of Christ is glorified. I was asked to serve as an Elder and felt the Lord confirming that appointment." The Strandy's love to travel as a family especially to Walt Disney World as well as venture outside and camp. Zach enjoys building whether it's a team of people, a business, projects around the house, or Legos with the kids. The couple enjoys just spending time together and they love opening their home to friends and family and simply sharing life together.
